Yamanaka Lab. will attend the Kei-han-na Open Lab. Symposium 2008 in Osaka Breeze Plaza on November 27.

This exhibition will be about the activities of NICT, “Lambda Access Project” and “Integrated Active Optical Access Network Project”.
Yamanaka Lab. will also demonstrate “Automatic provisioning of the Inter-carrier Ethernet Virtual Private Line Servises,” which is one of the activities from the Interoperability Woking Group of the Kei-han-na Info-Communication Open Lab., and SCOPE-I program that the Ministry of Inter Affairs and Communications entrusts Keio University, NTT and KDDI Laboratories.

Dr. Okamoto’s letter paper was accepted in IEICE Trans. on Communications.

Title: “Frame Loss Evaluation of Optical Layer 10 Gigabit Ethernet Protection Switching using PLZT Optical Switch System”
Authors: Satoru Okamoto, Sho Shimizu, Yutaka Arakawa, and Naoaki Yamanaka
Abstract: Frame loss of the optical layer protection switching using Plum bum Lanthanum Zirconium Titanium (PLZT) optical switch is evaluated. Experimental results show that typically 62us guard time is required for commercially available non-burst mode 10 Gigabit Ethernet modules.

Prof. Yamanaka Received the IEICE Fellow Award on Sep. 17

Prof. Yamanaka received the IEICE Fellow award on Sep. 17, 2009.
IEICE Fellow is the highest status for the members.
His fellow citation is “High-speed switching technologies and photonic network research.”
