THE PRESS RELEASE ABOUT STARTING TO PRODUCT THE NEXT GENERATION GREEN NETWORK SWITCH WAS ISSUED. THIS SWITCH WAS DEVELOPED BY YAMANAKA LAB. AND ALLGREEN NETWORKS.

To reduce the energy consumption in the IP and Ethernet transport network, Yamanaka Lab. focuses on a new traffic engineering approach aggregating traffic into specific links and dynamically powering off interfaces of routers/switches. This framework is named as “MiDORi (Multi-(layer, path, and resources) Dynamically Optimized
Routing) Network Technologies”. “midori” is a Japanese word which means “green” in English.
As one of key components for MiDORi Technologies, Yamanaka Lab. and Allgreen Networks company developed the next generation green network switch. Allgreen Networks company has started to product this switch as “Gigabit Green(ECO) Layer-2 Switch”.
