PROF. YAMANAKA APPEARED ON FM KAWASAKI, AND EXPLAINED SMART CITY AND SMART NETWORK

Prof. Naoaki Yamanaka was interviewed in FM Kawasaki related to Smart City and Smart Network. He talk that smart network is now closeup soler panel or smart meter that are just hardware or box. They are not enough for future energy network. One of the most important is the control, application and business that uses power network. In USA, smart network is the No. 2 ARPANET(The Internet). If say yes, we try to find Cisco router or Google or Amazon application business in Smart network.

MR. YAMADA’S PAPER REGARDING WITH THE GMPLS AWARE INTELLIGENT CLOUD NETWORK IS ACCEPTED AS AN POSTER PRESENTATION OF IPOP2010

Mr. Yamada’s paper regarding with the GMPLS aware Intelligent Cloud Network is accepted for the 6th International Conference on IP + Optical Network (iPOP2010) as follows.

Title: GMPLS aware intelligent cloud network
Authors: Shota Yamada, Jumpei Marukawa, Daisuke Ishii, Satoru Okamoto, and Naoaki Yamanaka

Abstract: With the appearance of the cloud network, high speed data communication among data centers is necessary. However, because the data is transmitted through the Internet, network bandwidth is not enough. To construct large bandwidth WAN at low cost, we propose an Intelligent Cloud Network. Fig.1 shows basic concept of the Intelligent Cloud Network. In the Intelligent Cloud Network, data delivered with parallel transmission and lower cost private lines that are lower bandwidth are applied as multiple routes. In this paper, we propose parallel transmission system. In this system, parallel routes are set up with GMPLS. Under the GMPLS environment, OSPF is used on the control plane. Every node in proposal environment can realize the network topology in order to advertise and exchange the route information to each other. In the proposed system, OSPF is used to discover the multi-path between two TCP over SCTP adaption gateways and RSVP plays a role to establish parallel routes between two gateways. The proposed system is implemented on the software switch, as shown in Figure2, and end-to-end throughput is evaluated.

MR. ASHIZAWA’S PAPER REGARDING WITH EFFICIENT SINGLECAST / MULTICAST METHOD FOR ACTIVE OPTICAL ACCESS NETWORK USING PLZT HIGH-SPEED OPTICAL SWITCHES WAS ACCEPTED FOR HPSR2010

Mr. Ashizawa’s paper regarding with Efficient Singlecast / Multicast Method For Active Optical Access Network Using PLZT High-speed Optical Switches was accepted for 2010 International Workshop on High Performance Switching and Routing (HPSR2010) as follows.

Title: Efficient Singlecast / Multicast Method For Active Optical Access Network Using PLZT High-speed Optical Switches
Authors: Kunitaka Ashizawa, Kazumasa Tokuhashi, Daisuke Ishii, Satoru Okamoto, Naoaki Yamanaka and Eiji Okiz

Abstract: We propose a new efficient singlecast / multicast method for active optical access network using PLZT 10 nsec high-speed optical switches. The Active Optical Network, called ActiON, has been proposed using slot type switched optical network. Compared with Passive Optical Network (PON), ActiON can quadruplicate the number of subscribers (128 users) per OLT and double the maximum transmission distance (40 km) between OLT and ONUs. However, ActiON uses slot based switching method, so it is difficult to realize the multicast delivery. In this paper, we propose the efficient singlecast / multicast method for ActiON by using PLZT optical switch elements which are controlled as ”distribution mode” like an optical splitter by applying mid-control voltage. In addition, a new efficient multicast slot allocation method is proposed and formulated as a linear programming problem. This formula develops the maximum number of users which is able to be connected by multicast and the minimum number of slots is used for multicast users.

YAMANAKA LAB.’S PROPOSED EVNO IS ADDED IN JAPANESE INDUSTRY GLOSSARY WEB PAGE "MONO DUKURI SHINGO".

EVNO(Energy Virtual Netwrok Operator) is added in Japanese industry glossary web page “Mono Dukuri Shingo”.

The tranlated text is described blow.

Energy Virtual Netwrok Operator(EVNO):
EVNO stands for Energy Virtual Netwrok Operator. This concept is inspired by Mobile Virtual Network Operator(MVNO) which means that a third party borrows communications infrastructure and provides mobile network service. A company to control power centrally and provide power effectively, and a company to transmit power with smart grid are separated. EVNO builds a “virtual” power plant by collecting several energy sources; EV(Electrical Vehicle), solar energy generation, and so on. The company to transmit power buys suitable power from EVNO. EVNO can create new busines chance like Google or Amazon business in the Internet.

ON APRIL 5, 2010, JAPANESE NEWSPAPER “NIKKAN KOGYO SHINBUN” REPORTED EVNO(ENERGY VIRTUAL NETWROK OPERATOR)

On April 5, 2010, Japanese newspaper “NIKKAN KOGYO SHINBUN” reported Yamanaka Lab.’s proposed EVNO(Energy Virtual Netwrok Operator) at the first page. EVNO is one concept of a next generation power gird using network communication technology. EVNO can create new busines chance like Google or Amazon business in the Internet.

Title:Study of Multiple Path Discovery Approach for Mass Data Transmission in Next Generation Wide Area Layer2 Network
Abstruct:Currently, bandwidth allocation of VLAN path in Wide Area Ethernet depends on link bandwidth. Aggregation of multiple end-to-end paths is effective to avoid this limit. This paper proposes multiple independent paths discovering method using extended Ethernet frame flooding technique in next generation Wide Area Ethernet which virtually enables high capacity transmission by aggregating multiple paths. Implementing the algorithm to software switches and evaluates the delay of discovered multiple paths.

Title:A Protection Scheme with Double Optical Trees in Active Optical Access Network
Abstruct:We study a novel optical access network with active optical switches, called ActiON (Active Optical Network), as a next generation access network to replace PON (Passive Optical Network). In this paper, we focus on the reliability of optical access networks and propose a protection scheme for ActiON by connecting two ActiON trees. Finally we discuss the availability and the component cost of the proposed architecture.
