Prof. Yamanaka become IEEE Communication society director as a
representative of Asia Pacific.
Prof. Yamanaka became yougest IEEE Fellow in Japan when he is 42 years
old and very active
in the area of high-speed network and optical network. In addition, He
has been working for APB
for more than 18 years as a officer.
He will conduct following things during his director period from 2010.1
to 2011.12
(1) Asia Pacific has more than 10K members, that is the largest region
except north america. We
will get a good visibility.
(2) We will award active member in this regin not only young researchers
but also othre activities.
(3) We will make good human communication among Asia Pacific.

Thank you for your suport and help for APB,

Title:Newly Proposed Signaling Based Service Provision Concept for Ubiquitous Grid Networking Environment
Abstract:With the advance of ubiquitous society including IPv6, it is expected that everything will be connected to the network. Then, a ubiquitous grid networking environment (uGrid) has been proposed. In uGrid, everything is defined as ”Service-part” and several Service-Parts are combined to provide new service for users. We propose ”Service-Signaling” which is a new service provision based on signaling protocol. In proposed network, software program functions having IP address are defined as Service-Parts in addition to hardware devices. Service-Signaling is marked by both interconnecting some Service-Parts and providing the desired service for users. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposal, we experiment in interconnecting Service-Parts. In the experiment, RSVP-TE extension is employed.

Title: Reducing Network Power Consumption Using Dynamic Link Metric Method and Power Off Links
Abstract:As the high-speed network technologies developing,
the traffic in the Internet increase rapidly. The network power consumption has come up to 10% of the worldwide energy consumption. In order to reduce this kind of consumption, we propose a novel method, which dynamically modifies the weights of links and makes traffic gather to certain links and then set some links of which the load no traffic Powe-Off. We also did much work in the network simulations, and the result shows that the method has a good effect in reducing the network power consumption.

MR. YAMADA’S PAPER REGARDING WITH THE TCP OVER SCTP PARALLEL TRANSMISSION TECHNOLOGY IS ACCEPTED AS AN ORAL PRESENTATION OF ONDM2010

Mr. Yamada’s paper regarding with the TCP over SCTP parallel transmission technology is accepted for the 14th International Conference on Optical Networking Design and Modeling (ONDM2010) as follows.
Title: A Study of TCP over SCTP Parallel Networking and Parallel Route Selection Approach for Mass Data Transfer Applications

Abstract: Parallel transmission is one of the popular techniques to realize huge bandwidth between two network nodes. However, in parallel transmission, many packet order inversions will be occurred when the delay difference among the routes is large, and TCP throughput will be drastically decreased under such a circumstance. In this paper, a TCP over SCTP (Stream Control Transmission Protocol) parallel transmission system is proposed to realize large TCP throughput over parallel transmission. In proposal, TCP is used in order to achieve end-to-end communication, SCTP plays a role to defeat packet inversion. Each TCP packet is encapsulated into SCTP packet at Gateway node which is located on edge of a parallel transmission section. In this paper, the proposed system is implemented on the software switch to evaluate parallel transmission. A parallel route selection algorithm is also proposed and evaluated delay difference characteristics.

abstract:How to minimize the number of mirroring resources under a QoS constraint
(resource minimization problem) is an important issue in content
delivery networks. This paper proposes a novel approach that takes
advantage of the parallelism of dynamically reconfigurable processors
(DRPs) to solve the resource minimization problem, which is NP-hard. Our
proposal obtains the optimal solution by running an exhaustive search
algorithm suitable for DRP. Greedy algorithms, which have been widely
studied for tackling the resource minimization problem, cannot always
obtain the optimal solution. The proposed method is implemented on an
actual DRP and in experiments reduces the execution time by a factor of
40 compared to the conventional exhaustive search algorithm on a Pentium
4 (2.8 GHz).
