MR. KIKUTA’S PAPER REGARDING WITH THE POINT-TO-MULTIPOINT VLAN PATH ON GMPLS IS ACCEPTED FOR OFC/NFOEC

Mr. Kikuta’s paper regarding with the Point-to-Multipoint VLAN path on GMPLS is accepted for The Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition and the National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (OFC/NFOEC ) as follows.

Title:Point-to-Multipoint VLAN path signaling demonstration on the GMPLS controlled Ethernet test network

Abstract: This paper provides the demonstration of GMPLS controlled Point-to-Multipoint Ethernet path establishment. The prototype RSVP-TE is extended for supporting peer and overlay model networks. Detailed RSVP-TE signaling mechanisms, experimental results are discussed.

Prof. Yamanaka become IEEE Communication society director as a
representative of Asia Pacific.
Prof. Yamanaka became yougest IEEE Fellow in Japan when he is 42 years
old and very active
in the area of high-speed network and optical network. In addition, He
has been working for APB
for more than 18 years as a officer.
He will conduct following things during his director period from 2010.1
to 2011.12
(1) Asia Pacific has more than 10K members, that is the largest region
except north america. We
will get a good visibility.
(2) We will award active member in this regin not only young researchers
but also othre activities.
(3) We will make good human communication among Asia Pacific.

YAMANAKA LAB, THE KEIHANNA OPEN LAB, KDDI LAB SUCCEEDED TO INTERCONNECT THE ETHERNET VPN BETWEEN MANY CAREERS AUTOMATICALLY, AND IT WAS ANNOUNCED AS PRESS RELEASE.

The Keihanna Open Lab whose Dr. Yamanaka is a project general manager researches the elemental technology of next generation’s optical network in cooperation with a lot of Japanese career venders.
The lob succeeded in the interconnection of the path computation server that calculated the route of an optical network between a lot of careers, and The success was announced as press release.

MR. GAO AND MR. YAMASHITA MADE PRESENTATION AT IEEE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PAPER CONTEST 2009.

Mr. Gao and Mr. Yamashita made presentations at the IEEE international student paper contest 2009 in 5th November.
They won a Bronze prize.

Title:Newly Proposed Signaling Based Service Provision Concept for Ubiquitous Grid Networking Environment
Abstract:With the advance of ubiquitous society including IPv6, it is expected that everything will be connected to the network. Then, a ubiquitous grid networking environment (uGrid) has been proposed. In uGrid, everything is defined as ”Service-part” and several Service-Parts are combined to provide new service for users. We propose ”Service-Signaling” which is a new service provision based on signaling protocol. In proposed network, software program functions having IP address are defined as Service-Parts in addition to hardware devices. Service-Signaling is marked by both interconnecting some Service-Parts and providing the desired service for users. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposal, we experiment in interconnecting Service-Parts. In the experiment, RSVP-TE extension is employed.

Title: Reducing Network Power Consumption Using Dynamic Link Metric Method and Power Off Links
Abstract:As the high-speed network technologies developing,
the traffic in the Internet increase rapidly. The network power consumption has come up to 10% of the worldwide energy consumption. In order to reduce this kind of consumption, we propose a novel method, which dynamically modifies the weights of links and makes traffic gather to certain links and then set some links of which the load no traffic Powe-Off. We also did much work in the network simulations, and the result shows that the method has a good effect in reducing the network power consumption.
